Casual for the Holidays

Whoa! I can’t believe it but it’s finally here, a new blog post!! In the beginning of this month my sweet friend Dani and her baby boy Tanner came to visit us! Those poor Floridians were really in for it because it was a chilly week! I was so thankful for her visit because it really encouraged me to be brave and take more outings with Jack. He’s two months old now and is starting to be a little more predictable, making it easier to get him and I out of the house! Which, is much needed! I can’t stay on Pinterest and watch my shows everyday (okay really I could, but I know I shouldn’t!). So these photos were from a day we went out to lunch together in our little old town down the street and shopped in a few of the local stores.

Jack isn’t exactly ready to pose for the camera yet, but fingers crossed with some more practice he will crack a smile or two! :) This jacket from Anthro. is already sold out but the top is still available in a few colors for just under $30! Peplum’s are my new fav. mommy shirt. They’re so feminie and hide my post baby bod! Layering on a fitted jacket like this is a great way to complete the look! I think this is an easy go to ensemble to put together for most holiday outtings! And for me this year, I’ve gotta keep it casual with baby boy, so this is my take on a dressed up casual look (if that’s a thing lol).

I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season so far! Thanks for stopping by!

My goodness! I had the hardest time sorting through oodles of beautiful images captured by my dear photographer Sarah… it was SO hard to choose just a handful to share! Good news is there are even more for your viewing pleasure featured on The Fount Collective blog- those photos are all FILM! The ones featured here are digital, I felt like I had to show off those too! In other words, her talent has no end. My apologies for taking so long to post part 2 of our session- in case you missed part 1 you can see it here. Truth is I have hardly picked up my lap top throughout this pregnancy!

It was a goal of mine throughout these 9-10 months to really center myself. It was important to fill my days with life’s simple settling into our new home.. decorating our baby’s nursery.. and getting lots and lots of REST! Consider me warned about sleepless days and nights on end. I’ve had zero guilt taking two naps a day since leaving my day job- with occasional Netflix binges!

We’re currently 38.1 weeks and I’m ready to POP! Next blog post should be introducing you to our sweet baby boy!

All hail to the best fashion season of the year, Fall! Mosaic has all our bases covered from hair, makeup, and of course- our fav Fall fashion trends (mine is anything plaid or gingham). I recently partnered with them to highlight trends that work for a mama-to be and a go to outfit for men. My sweet husband, Alex, is by no means a guy that typically does this kind of thing- but I think he would agree that he thoroughly enjoyed choosing a look that would appeal to men of various ages, and could easily be thrown on for a weekend out n’ about. He especially loved his hair and beard cut from Floyd’s– highly recommending you see Joe!

My look came together easily with the help of the gals at Mosaic’s Madewell store. My criteria: comfy, will transition from preggers to post pregnancy, and pieces that I could mix and match throughout this Fall. And truthfully, I hadn’t worn heels since my baby shower- your girl needs to feel fancy sometimes! I’m currently 34 weeks along- hooray! The homestretch!

If you reside in the DC metro area you won’t want to miss Mosaic’s Fashion Week Kick-off Party at Angelika Film Center, beginning at 6pm Wednesday September 14th. Many of their stores will be offering special discounts along with in store events throughout the week! You can get all the details here including a peek at the other amazing bloggers participating in the event Julien, Natalie, Alicia, and Tammy.
