A few weeks ago Alex and I took our maternity photos with our beloved friend, Sarah of Photos by Sarah Beth. Not only did we enjoy ourselves so much, but we were thrilled with the beautiful photos captured that day. It was so important to me to have this special time documented. Sometimes I still have to pinch myself to realize that this is actually happening. We are just about two months away from meeting our sweet boy and I still feel like I have a million and one things to do to prepare. But it’s sweet reminders like these photographs that make me stop and soak in the miracle that this pregnancy is. If you live in the DC metro area, Maryland, Northern Virginia, or anywhere on the globe (Sarah loves traveling)- she is truly the BEST and will go above and beyond to make sure you receive breathtaking images. We have to many pictures from our session that I had the hardest time choosing just a few to blog and had to break up the photos in two stay tuned for part 2 folks!

Pink Blush Maxi Dress

This is the ultimate maxi dress to carry you throughout your early to late stages of pregnancy! I may be having a boy, but I could not resist this pop of pink (my fav)! The exact “fuchsia” color I’m wearing has sold out, but I’ve linked their “magenta” maxi that is almost the same- and if you don’t fancy the color pink, it comes in a variety of options! I’m currently 26 weeks pregnant and wearing a size “small” which fits perfect with even a little more room to grow since it has a bit of a stretch in the material. Did I mention how soft it is?! The beauty of this dress is that it can be dressed up or down. I styled it with a casual denim vest while exploring the old town Alex and I live in. Had we planned for a date night, I would have paired it with a cropped leather motto jacket and black strappy sandals or my crochet kimono. And HOORAY because it’s currently marked down from $73 to just $42! In fact, their entire site is 20% off when you use code: “WEEKENDREADY.”

I especially love how their website is made with your convenience in mind. They not only offer maternity clothes but regular to plus size options as well. Looking for that perfect dress to wear to your baby shower? They’ve got you covered for that too since you can shop exclusively through their baby shower looks. One thing I’ve learned throughout this pregnancy is how important it is to feel like you have something amazing to wear! Especially when your early on maternity purchases start to not fit, something like this PinkBlush maxi dress will never fail. And so worth the investment since I’ll definitely be wearing it post baby.

I’m also happy to announce that I’m offering a special GIVEAWAY for you! I’ve partnered with PinkBlush to offer a $75 gift card to use on their website. For entry you must follow my instagram account Josie in Color, like the photo mentioning this giveaway, and post a comment tagging two friends you think might be interested in entering the giveaway. That’s it! Contest ends this Sunday at midnight and winner will be announced on the original instagram post Tuesday July 19th. I will direct message the winner informing them how to claim their prize! Good luck!

Happy be-lated birthday to me! This past Thanksgiving was my 28th birthday and it was a GREAT day! I spent it with my sweet in laws who spoiled me with cake and champagne (my fav and a must on my b-day) and lots of thoughtful gifts. Ya’ll did not have to- thanks!! I often feel like my birthday is overshadowed by the Thanksgiving holiday but this year they made me feel extra special.

I knew I wanted to be comfortable and of course, look cute, for my b-day so I wore my new swing dress from Anthro. Best part was of course, that it wasn’t fitted in the waist! Normally, I’m all about defining the waistline.. but the swing dress trend is on full swing and I had to join the band wagon. You have to find just the right fit for your body proportions- and in the case of this particular dress, I purchased a 0 Petite. Here are some other swing dresses that I love and think will work for most figures!
