I had the BEST day yesterday with my sweet husband, Alex, exploring our neighboring city of Washington. We love when we make the time to get out there and see the sights and eat the eats. And let me tell you- there are some AMAZING eats in D.C.! We ate lunch at Buredo off 14th St. NW where we had the freshest sushi as big as a burrito!! Get it, Buredo? After lunch we walked to the critically acclaimed Astro Doughnuts! They did not disappoint! Between Sugar Shack Donuts on Tuesday, and then Astro yesterday I have had the best donuts in my life in a matter of a few days span. No my thighs are not winning, but, my sweet tooth is! I’m a good girl- usually! But we’re all human right?!
Alex and I then sought out the spot where he proposed to me three years ago on August 9th, 2012. That photo is of us standing in that very spot in the Navy memorial in the heart of D.C.! It’s not our first time back there, more like our 3rd or 4th, but every time is just as nostalgic! Talk about holy ground! Anywho, I decided to give my 4th of July inspired look a twist yesterday- literally with a side twist on my chambray tank to define a waistline (which is slowly dwindling from the donuts). I switched things up even more so by wearing my mini pleated metallic skirt. I felt like it was such a fun swap for a predictable denim or white. I have linked some very affordable metallic skirt options above- two silver & one blush metallic!
I’m feeling extremely grateful today for our freedom as Americans, and hope all of you have a fun filled day with your family and friends!! I’ll be going to the Foo Fighters concert here in D.C. today, and can’t wait to watch the firework display over their stage at nightfall!!
