My husband and had our date night last weekend in our hometown of Old Town Fairfax. We had the best time walking around in the warm weather and discovering new little shops and eateries. Our first stop was at an authentic Irish Pub, The Auld Shebeen, where we sipped on the local beers (on the house for it being our first visit), devoured the mussels app, and listened to the live Irish Band. We then decided to transition straight into dessert at Woody’s Ice Cream located in the heart of downtown Fairfax. Alex had their famous soft serve chocolate dipped twist cone. I of course had their soft serve vanilla on a cake cone with rainbow sprinkles. I’m all about the rainbow sprinkles! After dessert we checked out a vintage inspired barber shop, The Standard, and finally found ourselves a surf shop! Every former beach townie knows the love of a good surf shop. It is amazing what you can discover in your own backyard if you just get out there!
My outfit for the night was of course inspired by one of mine and Alex’s favorite holidays, The Fourth of July! If you know me, you know I like to be festive! Now, I try not to cross the line between festive and cheesy but I do enjoy dressing for the occasion. I think this stripped jersey skirt can be a summer staple for many of you. It’s light, flattering, and so cute right?! I’ll try and feature some more 4th looks before the holiday hits so stay tuned!!
TGIF my friends!!
