When trying to beat the Summer heat one must opt for a light dress- or perhaps even a slip dare I say! I wore this look on the Fourth of July for the Foo Fighters concert at RFK Stadium in D.C. The day was hot- the kind of hot where you just know an impending rain shower is on its way. And thank goodness I shot this outfit right before we headed to the stadium. As soon as we left the shelter of the metro we found ourselves in the midst of a down pour with no choice but to walk to the stadium! Note to self, wear a rain jacket next time (no umbrellas allowed in the stadium). Despite turning into a wet rag doll the hubs and I had ourselves a grand American holiday and enjoyed the sounds of not only the Foo Fighters, but of Gary Clark Jr., LL Cool J, the great Buddy Guy, and D.C.’s masters of funk- Trouble Funk! The best part of the night was being treated to an incredible firework display over the stadium courtesy of the Foo Fighters!
Last weekend my wine enthusiast/birthday girl friend Lori and I roamed around Northern Virginia’s wine country! We had the best time swirling, sipping, and savoring on whites, reds, and pinks of course! We divided our day between two of my favorite wineries; Barrel Oak Winery and Blue Valley Vineyard & Winery. We packed ourselves a picnic and camped out at each winery until our hearts content. We had way too much fun discussing everything from our favorite Rosé to our hopes and dreams for the future. The entire day included so many of my favorite things: great food, fan-tastic wine, and the company of a dear friend. I love birthdays and I especially love it when I can spoil a deserving friend for their special day. I adore Lori and her kind heart so much. She looked darling rompin around in her birthday girl outfit! Both of us wore things incorporating eyelet lace- another favorite addition to what was a perfect day!
